Stainless Steel Fittings & Valves for Semiconductor & Electronics
Semiconductor duty is leak-tightness duty. Tell us which lines are UHP-class and which are purge or utility, and the quote separates the compression-joint territory from the welded face-seal territory honestly.

Why semiconductor needs stainless
A fab moves gases and chemicals at purities where a single leak ruins product, so the whole distribution system is built leak-tight from 316L stainless — the industry-standard material for high-purity tubing and fittings. The most critical ultra-high-purity gas points use electropolished tube and welded or metal face-seal joints; bright annealed 316L tube and precision compression joints serve purge, vent, cooling-water and chemical-utility lines where the purity class allows a mechanical joint. That split — EP and welded where the spec demands it, BA and compression where it allows — is the honest map of our territory. The BA tube story is covered inbright annealed tubing, and the leak-tight joint logic insingle ferrule vs double ferrule.
Typical duties in a fab
Our catalog serves the mechanical-joint side of a fab: purge and vent distribution, process cooling water and chemical utility lines, panel gas distribution outside the UHP inner loop, and roughing vacuum connections on pumps and forelines. The UHP inner loop itself — the lines delivering process gases to the tools — is typically welded EP tubing with face-seal fittings to the fab specification, and we will say so plainly rather than quote a compression fitting into it. The vacuum side has its own fitting family, the KF small-flange system, sized inKF vacuum fitting sizes, and the instrument-panel families are mapped inwhat are instrumentation fittings.
Duty to product family
| Duty | Recommended FerruleX family | Grade / note |
|---|---|---|
| Purge and vent distribution | Compression fittings | SS316L; leak-tight double-ferrule joints |
| Gas and chemical utility tube runs | BA tube and coil tube | SS316L; smooth internal surface |
| Panel metering and isolation | Needle valves | SS316L; fine control on purge and utility panels |
| Shutoff on utility lines | Ball valves | SS316L bodies |
| Roughing vacuum and pump connections | KF flexible vacuum hose | SS304/316; KF16–KF50 flanges per line |
| Bulk gas manifold take-offs | Compression unions and adapters | SS316L; state end forms per port |
Standards context
Instrument tubing follows ASTM A269 conventions frombright annealed tubing, and compression joints follow ISO 8434-1 / DIN 2353 practice frombite-type fittings explained. UHP process-gas points follow the fab's own specification, typically calling electropolished tube and welded or face-seal fittings — outside this catalog, and we flag the boundary rather than blur it. Vacuum fittings follow the KF small-flange convention fromKF vacuum fitting sizes.
What to state on the RFQ for semiconductor duty
- Service classification per line — UHP, high-purity, purge or utility — so the joint type matches the purity class.
- Gas or chemical service, including anything toxic or corrosive that changes the joint and material call.
- Leak-test requirement where the specification names one, and the acceptance criteria with it.
- Grade call-out, normally SS316L, and tube surface — BA where compression joints are accepted.
- Tube OD × wall and end forms per line, including KF flange size on vacuum runs.
